Erika Reed is a partner in LKP Global Law’s transactional group practicing in the areas of corporate and securities law. Ms. Reed works with companies in all stages of development in various industries, such as healthcare, life sciences, biotech, internet marketplaces, digital media, software, solar, semiconductor and others. Ms. Reed has experience in a variety of corporate and securities law matters, and has represented issuers and investors in numerous venture capital, bridge and seed financings, strategic investments, restructurings, board and corporate governance matters, buy and sell-side mergers and acquisitions and IPOs. Ms. Reed has extensive experience serving as counsel to investors (including venture capital funds, corporate venture investors, angel investors, growth and mezzanine capital providers, private equity groups and other capital sources) in deals ranging from small seed capital investments to traditional preferred stock transactions to both minority and control investments made by private equity funds. Ms. Reed also represents start-up, emerging growth and middle market companies as their outside general counsel, serving as a trusted advisor to entrepreneurs and management teams.

Prior to joining LKP Global Law, Ms. Reed was an associate in the Silicon Valley offices of King & Spalding and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (WSGR) where she focused her practice on emerging growth companies and M&A.

Ms. Reed earned her Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law, with honors in the Intellectual Property and International Law concentrations. She received a Master of Arts in International Relations from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts (With Distinction) from the University of Michigan.

Recent Activities

•   Repeat judge at multiple Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs South Bay Pitch and Demo Fests. At each Demo Fest, startup entrepreneurs pitched to the judges and winners were selected before an audience that included angel investors, investment bankers, entrepreneurs and academics, among others. Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs (SVE) is one of the largest grassroots movements of founders and developers in the Bay Area.

•  Organizer and Judge of the 2016 Innovation Pitch Fest hosted by the Silicon Valley Open Innovation Group, a startup pitch competition and networking event for local entrepreneurs.

Other Interests

Ms. Reed has spent several years living and working in Japan and maintains conversational Japanese and a passion for the culture. Ms. Reed is also an avid runner (mountain, trail and road, all distances), and an IFBB professional bodybuilder (women’s physique division) who has won two pro shows and recently competed at the famous Olympia (2016). She is passionate about fitness and is a certified personal trainer, and in her free time enjoys rollerblading in Santa Monica. She also enjoys spending time with her two lovely pet parrots, Ziggy and Orlando.
